Badger1815 Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Hi all, For starters, i've tremendously enjoyed playing the Basic Training campaign, i'd recommend it to anyone starting DCS A10. However, in mission ATF01 i have a radio problem, i get no response from Kobuleti on startup or taxi requests. I do get a takeoff clearance when right off the runway. This would not be a big problem, but i get the same problem with the tanker. Texaco is not responding to my calls & is not lowering the boom, so i can't even start trying. I'm using easy radio & the tanker & Kobuleti control show up white. Also, i check the radio frequencies & they show allright. Any ideas what could be wrong? cheers Badger
Sabre-TLA Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 This post might help explain it. You have to use the different radios to contact the tower and the tanker and ensure the correct frequencies are dialed in. Kobuleti - VHF, Tanker - UHF The tanker doesn't spawn until you are well into the flight. Also you can try with Easy Comms off and see if you get the same behavior. Badger1815 Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 Hi Sabre, Thanks for pointing this out, i figured i'd only have to use one key, as i'm using easy comms, but using the diff. mic switch buttons solved the problems. Thanks a lot I think, trying AAR is certainly every bit as much trouble as trying comms with the tanker :)
Sabre-TLA Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Glad you got it sorted. Good luck and don't forget to use the practice missions to get good before you try the qualification missions! MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
RogueSqdn Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I'm starting this campaign today, and I'm at the RVCP (about 4 min early), and the tanker has never spawned. Does it only spawn if you're there exactly on time? Sabre-TLA Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 (edited) Did you try contacting it on the radio or setup the TACAN to get bearing to it? It should have spawned after you took off but it is hidden on the map if you were trying to see where it was. There are a couple of F-16 escorts that you might see on your TAD. RogueSqdn Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 I tried the radio but the tanker was never an option. Strange. I exited out and restarted and it showed up this time. Side note, this was the first time I'd successfully refueled in the A-10. :) Thanks for the response. Sabre-TLA Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Congrats! We found air to air refueling to be one of the hardest things to do in any aircraft. However once we moved to VR it became much easier. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
