1Wolf Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 It had been some time since I was playing DCSW and I'd recently returned. I've taken advantage of the Christmas Sale and purchased a whole bunch of modules. My DCSW installs (I have both DCS 1.5 and 2.0 installed) are growing and I'm thinking I need to move/reinstall them to another drive. Currently I have DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0 and all their modules installed on my system drive. However, I also have another SSD with plenty of space free that I used to only use for Microsoft FSX. I hardly touch FSX these days so I thought I'd put my DCS there. What is the best procedure to do this with both DCS 1.5, DCS 2.0, and all modules and campaigns. I don't want to lose any of my saved data, campaigns, or customizations. I'm nervous though about just moving folders around as I'd rather do this as "clean" as possible. I don't mess much with customizations and such so I don't know too much about the files and folders in DCS so please...any advice you offer...treat me as a newbie. So what is the best and cleanest procedure to do this? Just save off my old DCS 1.5 and 2.0 folders in a temp folder and then uninstall and reinstall? Do I need to deactivate the modules first and then reactivate them? Do I need to deactivate them in both 1.5 and 2.0 before uninstalling? Thanks!
Rudel_chw Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Hi, It seems that it's possible to just copy the Folder of DCS from one drive to another and manually update a registry key and the desktop links, as indicated on this reddit post: keep in mind that your saved data and campaigns are located on your user folder (at "saved games"), so they shouldnt need to be moved.
