Lotham Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Hie all, Just for knowing, is it possible to create a visual effect for the supersonic bang in Lockon ? I have seen that in a movie with real aircraft and it is really really nice and impressive... But, certainly not possible to do with Lockon.. What do you think ? Probably not possible to mod - the possibilities here aren't all that great. You don't always get the vapour cloud behind the shockwave - depends a lot on ambient conditions that aren't modelled in Lomac so to do it properly would require a fair bit of effort. Lot of effort for some ear candy, it's rather more complex than the sonic boom. You may have noticed that the wingtip vapour trails aren't exactly complicated in their modelling, possibly also that the LERX vapour clouds have disappeared since Flanker 2 . . . . . . graphical effects on the airframe are in fact getting worse. Maybe in time ;) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Lotham Posted October 29, 2006 Author Posted October 29, 2006 Hie and thank you both for your answers. Godd job Zaelu your pics are really good. in fact, i was thinking it should very diffucult to do the visal supersonic effect with Lockon. just hoping some devloppers will integrate it in futur flightsim sofwares because it is so nice : This pics come from a french movie entitled "les chevaliers du ciel" ( "Knights of the sky" in english) made by Gérard Pirès in 2005. offical website here : http://www.leschevaliers-lefilm.com Somes other caps in my Mirage section : http://www.lockon.fr/galerie_type.php?avion=Mirage But don't expect to much, there is a little deformation which provide a quiet strange effect.
