Hi chaps,

i wonder if i can pick your brains, we have a server running 1.5 and have tried to also run NTTR on the same machine to no avail

we have opened ports 10308 -10310 (checked and both open) and changed the serversetting.lua to have 1.5 running 10308 and nttr on 10310. BUT we cant seem to have our guys connect to them at the same time even tho both are clearly up and running in the server itself.

firstly i guess i need to ask, am i trying the impossible. and if im not are any of you guys doing the same :)

We have both running, and accessible at the same time.

As long as you assign each version a different port, there is no problem.

can i confirm how you did that sir. im stuggling :(

If i leave 1.5 as the default port of 10308 and set NTTR to 10307

then if i connect on my own pc to both games and login to 1.5 ( no problems) but then if i try to connect to nttr it tries to connect to 1.5 ( my name appears in the server list)

did you have this problems at all.

thanks in advance

Your 1.5 server would never appear in the 2.0 (NTTR) server list. Make sure you're running 2.0 and then go into multiplayer. You should see your NTTR server there.

What is the name of your 2.0 server? I can check to see if it shows up in my 2.0 server list.

thanks for the reply but i didnt mean my 1.5 server appears in nttr.

i mean if i connect to 1.5 its fine and works .

but then if i open nttr and try to connect to my nttr server its trying to log me into the 1.5 port.

it shows my nttr username in my 1.5 server list. but doesnt open.

then stays on the loading screen :(

4 of our guys tried to connect to both servers and can only get into 1.5, thry have the same issue with nttr as i do.

Okay. Did you set the port to 10307 in your C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha\Config\serverSettings.lua file?

Here's an example from our serverSettings.lua:

cfg =

{

["isPublic"] = true,

["missionList"] =

{

[1] = "C:\\Users\\dcs\\Saved Games\\DCS.openalpha\\Slmod\\Missions\\229th Open World Map v5.miz",

}, -- end of ["missionList"]

["listShuffle"] = false,

["port"] = 10308,

["advanced"] =

{

yer i set 1.5 as (10308) and nttr as (10307) but nttr it still trying to connect to the 10308 port.

when i connect by ip address. if i dont add :10307 at the end of the ip address, that's when its trying to connect to 1.5

but if i add :10307 at the end it simply states an error correction and wont connect

i have checked all ports and they are all open :(

all ports are forwarded and added to my firewall rules

so frustrating :(

Okay. Just for something to try: We are running our NTTR server on the standard port, 10308, and our 1.5 on 10309. Maybe you could try setting your NTTR to 10308 and your 1.5 to 10307?

I just looked at all of the servers in the NTTR multiplayer list and they are all running on 10308 (including our server). Maybe NTTR is picky about the port? I admit, it doesn't seem logical, but it's something to try and may get you up and running.

EDIT: Nevermind -- there are NTTR servers running on ports other than 10308. Still may be worth a try though.

I've got to run for a couple of hours, but I'll check back in when I get back. I know we can get this sorted out -- I am currently running 1.5 and NTTR on the same box, and in the past I've run 2 x 1.5 servers AND NTTR on one box. It works.

So I did some testing on another PC here at the house. I set up a 1.5 server on 10308 and an NTTR server on 10307. I set up port forwarding on my router to allow access to those 2 ports, both TCP and UDP.

I could not see either server in the server list in 1.5 or NTTR from my main PC which is on the same network as the server PC. I could, however connect to both of them via the local IP:port.

Then, I had my friend check from his house. He could see both servers -- the 1.5 and the NTTR --in the multiplayer server lists.

It's been a while since I tried hosting a dedicated server from my home. (The 3 DCS servers I manage are in a data center about 15 miles from my house) I'll poke around some more with the PC here at home.

I would love to know what you find, having the same issue seeing the servers on the Master Sever list and also can't seem to get people to connect to the 2.0 server via IP from a second computer on my network (i only have one copy of Nevada map)

All this worked in the spring but I have updated DCS and upgraded to Win 10.

i hope your well, i have tried to do this the same way you have but its still not working.

i still cant connect to nttr on 10307:( its still showing a 'connection failed' and if i remove 10307 it tries to connect to 1.5 server.

can i ask a massive favor the .cfg and lua files you have edited to get this working.

any chance you can kindly share them with me :) im wondering if this is where my.problem lies

IT WORKS :)

I redid all the port forwarding again and put nttr as 10308 and 1.5 as 10309 and all my team can now connect to both :)

The only problem i have found is i need to connect in a differnt way but its working.

I just want to say a massive thank you for your help on this. you are a true gentleman.

THANK YOU :)

I'm glad to hear it's working now. I assume your team can see the servers in the server lists in 1.5 and NTTR and connect normally, but you have to connect by IP using the server's local IP address and port (either 10308 or 10309)? Is that correct?

i will double check but tbh as long as we can connect its cool
