BitMaster Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 As stated in my HW thread I am going thru a bad time with 2 broken boards in RMA, 1 Intel i7 being RMA'ed by Intel and everytime such a thing happens I loose a lic, 1 for each I own. Knowing that also the number of DEACTIVATIONS IS LIMITED it doesnt really matter if I can boot up the dead rig 1 more time to deactivate the modules, I will run out of options/lics sooner or later. Whom do I have to write to to have my lics being filled up as 1 lic per month is not enough in my own world as hardware enthusiast and overclocker. I have had 2 broken boards, both Z170,in the last 6 weeks, installed WIn10 like a dozen times and often had a crashed system that would not allow to boot back into Windows to deactivate ( with the limitations of that described above ). It still makes me sad that we, the paying crowd, is limited by such measures in the ability to tweak our systems, give HELP to others and what not else. It just feels plain wrong and I feel punished for things I dont control. I am down to below 5 with most modules, some are down to 1 now with the last Asus board in RMA. I can see the situation where my rig finally works but I still cant fly..have to wait till my lics replenish. This is for sure not what ED wants. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 9, 2017 ED Team Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) The DRM system has been this way for years and it works for ED If you have a problem with reaching your limit of deactivation's contact ED support for advice. For most users 10 activation's and 10 deactivation's is enough, I have been using mine for years and never had a problem. for anyone looking for a guide to activations it can be found in your DCS root doc folder DCS World\Doc\DCS World Activation Guide EN.pdf Edited January 9, 2017 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? BitMaster Posted January 11, 2017 Author Posted January 11, 2017 BigNewy, I dont doubt it works for ED. What I fight with is: Faulty hardware that wont allow you to boot windows again, so you cannot deactivate any module. I have burned a handful of lics this way. MiG21 license...a nightmare that not only I complain about. I will write to LN again and ask for another 10set of activations...will maybe last for a month tbh. Deactivations...well, IF I have the chance to deactivate I always do so but knowing now that this is also limited brought me to the insight that my means are limited in any direction unless I get help from ED and Leatherneck and depend on that good will. This leaves somehow a bad taste, what can i do if ED says "NO" ? Please dont get me wrong. They took my money so I can kindly ask for a guide how to fix this issue. Once my new PC is up and "STABLE" I will come back to this topic and ask for activation refills on those modules which are down to "1". That is nothing more than plain fair. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted January 11, 2017 ED Team Posted January 11, 2017 When you get down to your last activation it replenishes at 1 a month for de-activation's I don't think it works that way, so yes contact support for advice Hope your hardware issues are resolved soon Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
