J-1775 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) Normandy (beta) is going to be released «this winter». Since winters, especially Russian winters, may be quite long just this thought: How about if ED, alongside with the release of the Spitfire IX for DCSW 2.0, would release some small spot of the map? Just an airfield with its infrastructure, a few barns with cows in the vicinity and maybe a tiny village, maybe just 3km x 3km and beyond everything just green (or blue for the ocean) ─ rembember MS Flight Simulator 3.0? Just enough to practice engine run up, taxiing, takeoff and landing on a historic looking (gras?) strip. The best thing of this is, now listen Marketing Department, this teaser map could remain a free part of DCSW forever with the effect of ─ nomen est omen ─ teasing people to buy the whole Normandy map. :smartass: Edited January 13, 2017 by J-1775
Buzzles Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Don't you think you'd rather see them actually finish the proper map as a whole to releasable state, than devote their limited resources to spend time carving up a tiny part of it and turning into a module, and then having to do all the stuff to get it out and support it? Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
Rangi Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I agree with Buzzles, seems like a waste of time. PC: 6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.
Phantom88 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 It can't be much longer now......Hang in there:) Patrick
104th_Maverick Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 How about if ED, alongside with the release of the Spitfire IX for DCSW 2.0, would release some small spot of the map? This isn't really possible, although it would be nice I'm sure! Here is a teaser for you .... it looks f-ing awesome so far ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 104th Phoenix Wing Commander / Total Poser / Elitist / Hero / Chad www.104thPhoenix.com www.facebook.com/104thPhoenix My YouTube Channel
Rotorhead Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Not a terribly bad idea, I must say. But as others have already pointed out, it would just lead ED's efforts away from finishing the "real" Normandy map. After all, IF they manage to meet their projected deadline and stick to their usual business modell (I know, I know, everything is subject to change etc. etc.), we should get our hands on it in no more than two and a half months, with pre-order starting near the end of February at latest. Not that long away to release "tech demos" or "teasers" or whatever in the meantime. Besides, if video haven't teased you enough, I seriously don't know what will. And more will come in due time, that am I sure of. :)
