BIg Problem with FC...need help, plz

Hi,

 

I bought lock on last monday from the "exclusive collection" edited by Ubisoft in france (it's a full french V1.0 version sold as "nice price") and thursday i bought the unofficial add-on Flaming Cliffs at Simware's E-shop on the web.

 

I installed Lockon V1.0 without any problem and it ran perfectly.

Yesterday i received Flaming Cliffs and install it.

 

The install ran perfectly and i had the lockon V1.1 icon on my windows desktop.

 

problem : I try to launch Lockon-FC, the Starforce protection test successfuly my disc (i suppose because the test's bar graph increase at max from left to right), this windows disapear, the music start with a "LOCK on" icon in the windows task bar but.... that's all !!!!:huh:

 

The game don't start, i waited several long minutes (up to 25' !) and still nothing, just the music..... :mad:

 

Some one might help me please ?

 

My computer is an intel P4 3.2Ghz hyper threaded based computer with 2 Go DDR, graphic card : Nvidia 7800GTX ; motherboard : Asus P5GD1 Pro

I supose this machine to be able to run the game no :helpsmilie:

Let's get the obvious out of the way first - have you clicked on the "Lock On" on the Windows task bar and tried to get it to maximise?

 

 

The next answer is to uninstall Lomac entirely, and then install FC over a new installation of Lomac v1.00.

 

 

Your machine should cope with Lomac just fine, just looks like there's a bit of a minor hurdle to overcome first.

Yes it should work no problem, try a new graphics card driver?

 

Try this

1) Install v1.0

2) install v1.02 patch

3) install Flamming cliffs v1.1

4) install Flamming Cliffs v1.12a.

 

That worked for me.

Patch 1.02 is not necesary if you install Flaming Cliffs... it is contained. Patch 1.2 does not exist... yet, 1.12a it does and has all the previous patches and fixes from 1.1 release to date.

Of course Sir... but not "maximise" in the right clic menu and nothing hapen if i press ALT+ENTER.

 

I even tried to instal them to on other computers (older) one of them never have anything else than windows Xp pro sp2 and my video edit softwares, the other is an old toshiba Notebook and... i had exactly the same results.... :furious:

 

I've removed once again both LO & FC from my computer and I'm curently tracking and deleting all "lock on" or "eagle dynamic" in my window's registry

 

 

May the FC disc i've bought at simware is corrupt ?

 

I realy don't understand what's hapen....

 

Any other ideas friends ?

That happened to me: I solved it takeing out the sound hardware acceleration.

 

From the directX properties, move the hardware sound acceleration bar to the left, thus disableing the hardware sound acceleration

I thought this possibility and i think this is not my problem's source because the 1st computer use sygate personal firewall ; the second use Zone alarm and the third one don't use any firewall because it is not connected to Internet or Lan.

 

May be the Anti-virus software ? Norton anti-virus corporate edit. V9.0

 

@ Teka Teka : I have effectively Ace mega codec pack on the tested computers.... i will try to uninstall it but it don't please me :( this codec pack is so great and read so much things....

EDIT :

 

PROBLEM SOLVED !

 

I JUST UNINSTALLED ACE MEGA CODECS PACK (i must have started my computer in safe mode to be able to completely remove the Ace mega codecs 's folder)

 

and my LO + FC Start now....

this codec pack is so great and read so much things....

I use a media player called VLC, it seems to play just about anything. Give it a try, its a free download.

Hopefully with VLC, you won't be so worried about losing that codec pack.
