Badger1815 Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi all, When landing the A-10C, when rolling down the runway I almost always get a short CDU error message with some yellow reverse video that lasts for maybe a second. Also the master caution light comes on very shortly. I don't have any screenshots of this, but i was wondering what is happening & if it can be avoided. Best regards Badger
Jafferson Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I think thats normal, the CDU is recalculating.
SnorreSelmer Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 That's normal. Once speed is below a certain point for a certain time, the CDU dumps data into storage. I'm sure Bunyap covers this in one of his videos. MustanGrande Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 It usually flashes a Msg notification as well, doesn't it?
RglsPhoto Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) With weight on wheels, and when the airspeed decreases below 75 knots, a download of data to the DTC is automatically initiated. This download causes the waypoints, flight plans, and present position to be downloaded; and the EGI GPS is placed in the NAV mode and then a maintenance log is written which causes a warm start of the CDU. When a warm start of the CDU occurs, this display will go blank for several seconds, then the page that was displayed prior to the warm start will be redisplayed, and the WARM START annunciation will be displayed on CDU for 10 seconds or until the FA pushbutton is depressed. When auto-download of system data is initiated and a CDU warm start occurs (aircraft landing and airspeed falls below 75 knots), automatic disengagement of the LASTE EAC switch may occur. This is normal system operation. During auto-download , a WCN caution CDU NOT READY which indicates CDU Not Communicating on the 1553 will be displayed on both MFCDs. Furthermore, If the CDU determines that a transmission has failed three consecutive times on the 1553 A bus or B bus, a BUS A FAIL or BUS B FAIL is displayed. The annunciation is turned off when acknowledged by depressing the FA pushbutton or communication is re-established. Once acknowledged, the annunciation will not be displayed again until a CDU cold start or warm start occurs. If the condition clears then returns, the failure is logged with no annunciation I couldn't reproduce the BUS A/B FAILs in DCS maybe it is not modeled in the sim.
