So, I am currently debating whether to upgrade my TMWH with the upcoming VKB Gunfighter or VIRPIL, or otherwise go for a EC-135 cyclic like from MicroHelis.de or Komodo sims.

I fly mostly helis and WW2. Obviously, the cyclic is the best fit for helis, and the VKB/VIRPIL is the best fit for WW2. I am wondering about cross-application. I think, just as obviously, the VKB/VIRPIL will work decently enough as a heli cyclic. But how about the other way around? What are the drawbacks of using a heli cyclic to fly WW2 ... or even, for the rare times I do indulge in the jet age?

Those of you who do have one of the specialized cyclic, have you used it to fly other a/c? Opinions?

I use my cyclic even when I fly a jet. If I pull pitch I speed up.

Of course it is not so immersive like a real "Jet-Control", but for my taste it is better to fly a Jet with a Heli-Collective than a Heli with a Jet-Control. But I fly, however, most of the time Helis.

VKB has good consideration for WWII planes in their designs - the guys are fan of this simulation genre - why the dampening in Gladiator and "Dry Clutch" in Gunfighter.

Gunfighter is probable the best suitable gimbal for heli control - if you don't buy a dedicated heli cyclic without return to center spring system.

VirPil early gimbal model seems more focused in DCSW jets, with 15+15 degrees trow.

Rest wait someone test the new Gunfighter and VirPil gimbals in practice. :)
