chardly38 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Im having issues with my computer going to 100% CPU. This has happened 4 times. To give the story. I reformatted my computer in December of last year. I did this because of problems with NTTR map but come to find that VSync turned on made the sim load ground textures slowly. Last night I had DCS load the training mission for the SU25. While it was down loading I opened fire fox to look for videos on the SU25 the my computer went to 100% and had to force a shut down. Just A few minutes ago after flying for about an hour, I closed out DCS and changed my Helos profile from SU25 to the Mig-21 then my computer went to 100%. I have never had this problem before reformatting windows 7 64. I got the task manager open and show processes for all. System 496K NT Kernel & System was at 99 CPU all other processes at 0 Guidance and suggestions needed.:helpsmilie: The other two times this has happened was using a program PhotoPlus by Serif [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_CREATED_USER_NAME=chardly38&set_filter=Filter&set_filter=Y"]MY SKINS And Helios i7 2600k 3.4 quad w/ Hyper N520 cpu fan_, Asus Sabertooth z77_, RX 580_, Corsair Vengeance 1800 8Gb ram_, 112 OCZ Vertex 3_, Corsair HX 1000, 3 screens res 5292x1050_,and 1 1680x1050 Helios Ir Tracker 5 with Pro Clip_,Hotas Warthog#12167 ...
BitMaster Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 maybe this helps: found on google btw: .......... After much debugging, I was able to come to the conclusion that my specific case was related to a bug in the Oculus Rift software. Because the Rift, a virtual reality headset, requires low latency, their software seems to set the IDLEDISABLE power configuration to "1". In certain cases, after taking the headset off, the setting is not changed back to the default of "0". IDLEDISABLE prevents the CPU from throttling itself, causing heat and the fan noise I observed. Additionally, this manifested in the Task Manager as "100% CPU usage". Process Explorer seems to always discount the System Idle Process and not include it in the total CPU usage, which is why it displayed a lower total CPU usage than Task Manager did. To fix this, you can run the following two commands, which sets the IDLEDISABLE setting back to "0" and then re-applies the power management configuration. C:\WINDOWS\system32>PowerCfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT SUB_PROCESSOR IDLEDISABLE 000 C:\WINDOWS\system32>PowerCfg /SETACTIVE SCHEME_CURRENT More information can be found in my post-mortem. Also try RESMON ( google if you dont know ) and with it's help you should be able to find the source of the 100%. Scanned for Viruses already ?? Also them cause 100% load sometimes maybe this helps Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

BitMaster Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 I guess you have to start all over from scratch and stay on the red line, aka ONLY install ONE AFTER THE OTHER while you watch what your OS does. Try to provoke the same scenario ( there wasnt much needed to tilt it as far as I understood ) with the new install. Step by step. Watch your drivers closely. If you run Win7 I highly recommend to update your patches with a downloadable package in your language, search google for it, winfuture.de has them in german, maybe other languages too. Win7 will cause 100% CPU load sometimes ( known bug ) when the OS searches for updates. You can bypass this thru disconnecting from the network, set Updates to DISABLE and THEN ONLY install the 2GB download pack that patches your OS from plain SP1 to up-2-date state. If you do this with auto-update enabled and connected to www you will suffer hard, believe me, done this dozens of times and it is a No-Go situation, it may take DAYS to find the updates. MS is aware of it but there is NO REAL FIX for this as of now. The problem is over a year old btw... I think, either you have a broken driver, suffer from MS Update bug or you are infected.
