fitness88 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) Just picked mine up today at the Microsoft Store for 200.00 off what it was last week...849.00CAD down to 649.00CAD. Edited March 5, 2017 by fitness88
Brewnix Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Wondering why the price drop? I read Zenimax has filed a injunction to keep Oculus from selling Rifts with there software code! I guess that means trying to eliminate all inventory before they get told to stop selling. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Zenimax probably just trying to pressure Zuckerburg to pay out the 500 million that was original rewarded in the first lawsuit. I suspect the large price drop was more of a move to capture, or surpass the Vive in market share. Interesting video clip from GDC - interview with Nate Mitchell, head of Oculus' Rift Division, regarding the future of the Rift. Sounds like some exciting things coming down the pike. Wow that is really cool. Thanks for posting this, I wasn't feeling too good on my Rift purchase. I was felling more like we would see Rift fall away and no support. But sounds like there plans of moving forward are still in motion this is cool. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

At least I have no concern at this time... crowebar Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Those of you with touch controllers, can they be used in DCS to control joystick, throttle levers, trim wheels and various switches? dburne Posted March 7, 2017 Author Posted March 7, 2017 Those of you with touch controllers, can they be used in DCS to control joystick, throttle levers, trim wheels and various switches? No. However with one of the recent DCS updates, if the Touch controllers are on you will see gloves in the cockpit. They are just placeholders currently, they do not move when you move the Touch controllers - so probably just a teaser. NeilWillis Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I've invested in the touch controllers after the price drop. £199 was way way too expensive, but £99 brings them into the realms of the feasible. I am not holding my breath for them to be fully implemented in DCS World, but they'll increase the scope for other gaming activities. I think the glove approach will be the one that works best, but how long we will need to wait for them to arrive in an effective form, and costing something reasonable is anyone's guess.
crowebar Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Ok thanks dburne. Agreed NeilWillis, there are a few avenues under developement, I guess as you say, we will have to wait and see what comes on the market, and what works in DCS.
