External view question from beginner pilot

Fellow Pilots,

This is a repost from A-10C subsection, sorry about that.

Just recently acquired DCS 2 and A-10C.

Flying is great with TM hotas and pedals. A-10C monitor setup is fine with dual screen, main GUI on top and MFD’s on lower one.

Now I’m planning to install 3rd monitor on top of the main one and display chase view (or any external view) on that. How this should be done? Modifying some LUA files? Or is it not possible?

I know some might think that this is cheating and it is, but for beginner like me it would give a great aid in learning to master this suberb sim.

However, if you haven't bought the third monitor yet there's a better investment you can make as far as flightsimming goes (It may seem subjective but I think it'll be hard to find anyone here who disagrees). If you haven't got a trackIR or a similar device, you should definitely invest in one of those. Or google for ED tracker, a device that perfoms the same function but cheaper.

You mean similar function. ED Tracker is not a 6DOF solution while TIR is.

Thanks for the reply's.

I modified the setup, skipped the 3rd monitor on top. And this TIR seems to be very promising aid with 34" ultrawide, need to investigate that a bit more.

Next thing is to install TM cougars to the lower monitor, that should be easy one to do. Some mech work and keybindings, I think...

Ah yes, I forgot about that after almost a year of using the oculus.

The TM Cougar is plug and play with the A10C, no fiddling with keybindings. You can attach them to the monitor using poster-stickers... The same type kids use to put posters on their bedroom walls. They will hold just fine and will leave almost no residue when you take them off.
