Hi,

I purchased DCS A-10C a long time ago. Never really had time to play more than the first few training missions.

Now that I have recommitted to flight simulation I wanted to get up to speed with the A-10 again.

However I experience a strange activation loop problem. The "DCS A-10C Warthog 64 bit - Activation" window pops up and tells me that activation is required. I activate the game (again), window closes, comes right back up, I activate again. After doing that three or four times the activation window stops being responsive and DCS World launches.

However I can't use the A-10. I tried training and a regular mission but I'm always stuck watching the theatre map. I see the tactical symbols for other aircraft and ground units moving around but I can't switch this off. Keyboard assignments show that I can toggle a "Theater map view" by using F10. Unfortunately F10 does nothing. Maybe this is related to the activation loop thingy.

Little :helpsmilie: for the new guy please?

PS: Just tested the SU-25T, it works

Tested SU-25T

The runway is quite short, but very wide.

Try pressing "Cancel" or "Exit" next time when it asks for activation. Works for me.

If you use Track IR, make sure none of the hotkeys are F10 (or other you want to use in DCS). Especially if "Trap" is set in Track IR, it will take exclusiv usage for that key.

Thank you kindly for your advice. I've managed to solve the problem in the meantime, the Windows way: Uninstall, wipe all remains of the software, install again. Now changing views with the F keys works and missions in the A-10 aren't stuck in the map view.

After reinstalling DCS world the module manager even told me that the A-10C is now available. Probably something very old was still stuck somewhere (I didn't update for over a year) and the recent update run didn't quite set up the software as it was supposed to.

The runway is quite short, but very wide.

There is a bug with activation sometimes, and if your hardware changes sometimes it's hard to re-activate. From memory the solution that worked for me last time was to delete the activation keys for the modules having the problem (it was the Ka-50 for me) and then re-activate using the pop-up window. I can't remember where the keys are stored but a quick google search got me the answer last time. I don't think you'll need to do a complete re-install next time.

The reason you were stuck in the F10 map view is that you didn't have the aircraft activated, so you couldn't get in the cockpit to fly it, thus only the F10 map view would be available. F1 should take you to the cockpit view if it's allowed.
