Coxy_99 Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 (edited) Will the chain home radar along the south coast of england be added via combined arms? http://www.anti-aircraft.co.uk/chain_home_map.html Edited March 29, 2017 by Coxy_99
REDEYE_CVW-66 Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 They have said that WW2 radio functionality is in the works (check wags stream flying huey over Normandy), but radar, combined with ground control is an essential part of WW2, just as AWACS is to modern scenarios- I have it gets in at some point.

Thanks ill have another watch.
Weta43 Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I don't remember Wags ever saying in any of his live-streams that WWII radar units would be functional at the point the map went to open beta, but regardless of whether they are or not, all existing EWR / Search radars will work, so the ability to mimic the chain home functionality will exist (if you aren't interested in iseeing the radar units in your movies). Cheers.
Pikey Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 From memory it was something about looking at it for later. But you can add radars, they will work the same in the map as any other, its the implementation of the detection thats a little more tricky to simulate, since the fog of war reveals a lot more information about units than a typical radar. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
71st_AH Rob Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Actually, you will require an AWACS for the Blue coalition since the EWR only will respond to the Red coalition at the moment. This has been an issue for a while and is related to unit call signs it appears. Hopefully the WWII radar introduction will make all maps more playable. The closer to beat a release the better.
