AesclepiusCrow Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Hi there. I've recently run into issues with my Warthog stick. The TMS left button no longer responds. As I've heard the customer support is lacking, is anyone here knowledgeable enough to know what may be causing it and a means to fix it? I'm still waiting for TMs response -- now going on three days. So if anyone has a quicker method like a blast of air or where to look for severed wires, I'd appreciate it. Crow. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Ganesh Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Sounds like a broken wire! Get inside and take a look, there are many small wires wich can break loose! I can imagine that your TMS left wire is simply broken. The contacts can be re-soldered. It´s not so comlicated, i´ve done this for myself to replace a broken shaft. regards Ganesh She: "Your orders from ED have reached a total amount of $ 1121,03 and your hardware expenses are countless..." AesclepiusCrow Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 Where would I look for the broken wire? I assume between top of stick and the board? Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Ganesh Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Look at the pins where the wire is soldered to the button. This is a very sensitive point because the button moves constant to and fro if used.:joystick: That´s why they have also attached hot glue on each wire to fix it.Merken regards Ganesh She: "Your orders from ED have reached a total amount of $ 1121,03 and your hardware expenses are countless..." AesclepiusCrow Posted March 31, 2017 Author Posted March 31, 2017 So the likely break is at the button above the hot glue. Will check tonight. It still functions save for the one button so I have a hard time convincing myself to ground DCS to fix a button that's only really necessary for the A10. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk
Sokol1_br Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Difficult will be a broken broken wire, but a fault tactile micro switch inside that "TMS" HAT. https://cdn.sparkfun.com//assets/parts/9/0/00097-03-L.jpg Their membrane lost the ability to "click". Is need replace the switch, require solder tools (and skill). Or get a entire new TMS from Tm and replace.
Krebs20 Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Edit I was responding to Ganesh's broken shaft. Sorry to hijack the thread. Where did you replace the broken piece with? I called thustmaster and they where no help with the matter. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ganesh Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Edit I was responding to Ganesh's broken shaft. Sorry to hijack the thread. Where did you replace the broken piece with? https://www.shapeways.com/product/FBAR3EXNC/thrustmaster-joystick-tailpiece-15-deg-offset?optionId=59379350&li=marketplace I took this one with offset and yeah, it works great so far and was cheap also I called thustmaster and they where no help with the matter. Did the same. They gave me a special offer: to buy a new stick  Without a base altough, but c´mon a few spare parts for their customers would be good. Poor support from TM :huh:Merken regards Ganesh She: "Your orders from ED have reached a total amount of $ 1121,03 and your hardware expenses are countless..." mr_mojo97 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 While we're on fixing the Warthog (sorry to hick jack the thread) my throttle slew stopped working a while ago when the main board blew after an electricity spike - TM sent me another but still doesn't work. I reckon it might be the board in the throttle grip but can anyone else recommend anything? Sokol1_br Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 There's a small PCB inside right throttle grip for "slew" I2C protocol and buttons Shift Register ask for Tm for this part. http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e27/hrvhegeykc/2_zpsad26f341.jpg~original
