Just wondering about the new 1.3 update for Oculus and the new SDK developer tool for it - should you be setting up the pixel density in the SDK AND the in game settings for DCS, or just one or the other? If both, should they match? Do they cancel each other out, or negatively affect one another?

Also, question about settings in game - the resolution setting specifically, in VR, should it be set to your desktop res, or to that 2160x1200 resolution that the Rift/Vive is at combined? I've always wondered, as I see so many people with 1280x1024 or 1920x1080 as their settings, WHILE using VR - since the desktop is on too, does this setting need to match the native desktop res or something as well? Just want to make sure I'm getting optimal performance and I'm not having any settings messed up.

The resolution you set in DCS is just for the monitor when it is in 2D and it is ignored, when DCS is in VR mode. So you don't have to worry about it at all for VR.

As to the SDK tool: I always use the in game setting. No need to use the SDK, IMO. There should be no difference between the two regarding the performance etc. But I never really tested it ;)

I just use the in game settings for PD when the game has it available. I only use the SDK PD for other games if they do not have an in game setting. Do not use both for the same game, I would think the SDK would over ride any in game setting.

Also as funkyfranky mentioned, the resolution in game is your 2d monitor resolution. No effect on the Rift as it has it's own independent resolution. The in game resolution setting should match your 2d monitor.
