ruddy122 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 Just looking if this Is the case in real life I noticed that as you approach 1100 kmh TAS you hit the limit of Nose Down trim and you can't trim the airplane anymore in 1.5.6 Is it true in real life? Winston 60 Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 I can verify that this now happens in stable release version 1.5.6.3930 and it didn't happen in the previous versions. I'm wondering if this is a new feature... or a bug? :dunno: CPU: i7 980x @ 4.2GHz RAM: 24gb Corsair Vengeance MB: Gigabyte Sniper X58 w/onboard Soundblaster X-Fi HD: SanDisk 480gb SSD OS: Win7 Pro 64bit VIDEO CARD: EVGA GTX 980ti FTW MONITOR: LG 34" Ultrawide 2560x1080 MP SERVER: ibuypower i7-4810MQ w/Win7 Home 64bit GEAR: Saitek X-52 Pro; Combat Rudder Pedals; Throttle Quadrants. DarkFire Posted April 16, 2017 Posted April 16, 2017 (edited) This has been a thing for a while, though the speed at which you run in to the trim limit increases as altitude increases. I'm guessing that the limit is proportional to air density and maximum hydraulic pressure, i.e. maximum hydraulic actuator force. ruddy122 Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Thank you for the responses. I treat it as a limitation that I take into account when I go to battle with the flanker I love that plane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] LUCKY:pilotfly::joystick: Computer Specs CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core 3.4 GHz| GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 6Gb | RAM: 32 GB DDR4 @ 3000 MHz | OS: Win 10 64 bit | HD: 500 Gb SSD

I treat it as a limitation that I take into account when I go to battle with the flanker I love that plane Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If you're carrying a war load then the trim authority limit is something that you're unlikely to run in to unless you're at low altitude (<1,000m) at maximum throttle. Even then, with a full compliment of missiles or some A-G ordnance you're maximum speed is likely to be under the point at which you run out of trim authority. winchesterdelta1 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Ahh i thought i did something wrong. Thanks for the question and answers. Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.
LJQCN101 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 IRL below 5000m and above 1.1 mach, more than 80% forward stick is required to achieve a level flight, which can use up all your trim authority. As altitude increases, less forward stick is required to keep the plane straight and level. EFM / FCS developer, Deka Ironwork Simulations.
