BitMaster Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Read yourself : https://www.hardocp.com/news/2017/05/04/gamers_red_hot_fury_over_intel_core_i77700_temperature_spikes to BuzzU: This may explain your CPU's behaviour with temps and fans, just yours goes over the tip and shuts the core off at 102°C. I now even more think you have a very big chance of RMA'ing your CPU or rig. BuzzU Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I have no problem now. It runs at 59C with everything set as high as it will go. I just click on the high setting button and don 't touch any of the settings and it runs smooth. I'm still set at 4.5ghz too. The Prime 95 test is the only time it gets hot. Who cares about that? I haven't bothered to order the Noctua D-15 cooler. I don't seem to need it now. Buzz
BitMaster Posted May 6, 2017 Author Posted May 6, 2017 I wonder if that cpu could actually render any video or if it would then also run into the limiter. Anyway, if you are fine its ok 4 me too ;) Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
BuzzU Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Even in iRacing which puts a good load on a system it runs in the 50's. Of course it always did when I was having a problem in DCS. If you remember the next day after you helped me it started to run cool. It's like running the temp so high in the Prime 95 test did something to it and it got back to normal. I still had stutters, but as you know that turned out to be Trackir causing it. It's been trouble free ever since. I did run the prime 95 test again and it stayed pretty cool for about 4 min and then climbed up into the 90's. I shut off the test at that point. Then I find the cure for the stutters and haven't messed with it since. Now my biggest concern is what plane do I want to fly.:) Buzz

BuzzU Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 It does get cold here, but I never turn on the heat. I like cold. I was dying when I lived in Calif. Buzz
BuzzU Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 Gunnison which isn't far from me has a record low of -60. I hunt in the Gunnison valley. Gunnison is about 7500ft. Imagine being in that area, but hunting at 12,000ft. Whatcha got in Canada? Buzz
Demon_ Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Whatcha got in Canada? -60 is nothing without humidity. Edited May 7, 2017 by Demon_ Attache ta tuque avec d'la broche.
