hi, so I am playing the first mission of the SU27 campaign.

I press the \ key to talk to the ATC.

I select ATC then I get many different frequencies options.

I have no idea which one to choose to talk to the ATC and ask for takeoff (for example).

in truth I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to using radio commands.

is there something I can read ( on the web ) to teach me ?

many thanks.

Easy. Just select the base you're departing from--it should be first on the list. If it's the Mozdok campaign, the briefing let's you know you're at Mozdok. So \, F5, F1, F3.

EDIT: As far as the regular radio commands are concerned, they're listed in the Su-27 Flight Manual starting on page 90. I think it's in your installation's FC3 DOCs directory (not at home and can't doublecheck), if you have FC3. Otherwise, if you own the Su-27 standalone, it should be in that directory's Doc folder.

Every time you contact an airfield or AWACS (if there are multiple ones airborne) the closest one to you is always shown at the top of the list, and all the rest are ordered in descending order of increasing distance. This can be very useful if you experience an emergency because you won't have to calculate which airfield is closest - just contact the one at the top of the list and they'll give you range & bearing to the field.

Hope this helps.
