3 missions with Dranda AB and winter-time in common.

Mission4 is a bonus and requires Merzifon mod v1.1 to be installed.

http://www.666th.co.uk/downloads/LO_missions/A-10A_mission-pack_snowy-dranda.zip

--- Prelude ---

This morning a convoy UN-observers (UNOMIG) stumbled on a mine field in a bend on the road through the Kodori Gorge. With 20 inches off snow around the roads they are reluctant to drive around the mine field.

With enemy seperatists operating only 10nm to the north-east, the convoy is as good as trapped.

--- Mission ---

Since we have two armed A-10A's standing by, there is still time to help the convoy. You are tasked to cluster-bomb the mine field so the convoy can continue it's journey.

We radio-ed our plan and the convoy agreed to stay put for 20 minutes; Any longer will put them in danger.

--- threats ---

Allthough we know quite a few SAM sites are active on several mountain ridges, your target area lays out of their reach. However, some MANPAD's are only 16nm from Dandra AB and are threat to your mission. F-4's just took off to eliminate this threat.

--- Prelude ---

Scouts report Chechen seperatists are active in the valley east of Georgia's largest mountain "Mount Shkhara".

So far we've discovered ammo dumps and small-arms factories. We want to slow down the seperatists' war machine.

--- Mission ---

We've selected two main targets; The electric-power distribution building on the south slope of Shkhara's mountain, and a factory at Verhbaksan village. You and your wingman (flight Chevy)are ready for take off and will fly in formation with another A-10 flight (flight Ford) that is heading for the Shkhara valley aswell.

At WP4 you will head north to engage the distribution building while flight Ford continues east and heads for the factory. Both locations have been programmed into your targeting system.

--- Threats ---

The villages and bridges in the Shkhara valley are well defended with MANPAD's and AAA.

If you follow the planned route, stay low and use the mountains to mask your approach, you should be allright.

A Shilka is stationed near a command center of the village right below your target. Use a AGM-65D to destroy the Shilka before you run in for the target.

Above you target, high on Shkhara mountain slope, a SA-9 missile launcher is stationed. If you attack the building from below, the SA-9 will not be able to track you.

The steep mountain walls and thin air are also a threat to be aware of. Always keep an eye on your energy state. Load of your plane has been kept to a minimum for this reason.

--- Take off / Landing ---

It's snowing again and the cloud layer starts at 900ft.

Visiblity at the target area is clear.

Take off with a steady climb rate of 4000 ft/min so you break through the cloud layer just before WP1. Head for WP2 and continue to climb to your flight level of 7000ft.

Due to the low overcast we've put WP9 in your flightplan. Switch from NAV to ILS 1nm before WP9, turn left and follow your HSD/ILS indicator.

-- Prelude ---

A chopper with UN-observers was shot this morning over a valley some 20nm north-west of Sukumi.

We've picked up the crew's beacon and they are hiding close to a communication relay station.

--- Mission ---

We have organized a Rescue mission; One UH-60 will pick up the crew one A-10A (your flight Uzi) are tasked to eliminate any threat to the Blackhawk.

--- Threats ---

We know seperatist are active in the area and have noticed MANPAD's near the communication tower before. No other militairy hardware is expected near the target area.

Enemy Ka-52's are also alleged to be cruising vallyes north of Sukumi allthough this intel has not been verified yet. Escort the Blackhawk back to base once it has collected the downed airmen.

MiG-23's are known to fly CAP north of your target area. We don't expect any A2A engagement but allied MiG-29s at Gudauta AB will scramble if necessary.

--- Notes ---

There are civilian buildings at the target site that must stay intact.

Use the AGM-65D's seeker head to study the area and then plan your best approach.

--- Prelude ---

After several sorties in Georgia last week, you and your wingman took of from snowy Dandra this morning heading for your homebase Merzifon in Turkey.

On-route we've recieved the word that anti-NATO partizans stormed the gates at Merzifon AB and took over the control tower. They also took positions near the runway hold and base entrances. These Partizans pose a great threat to incoming aircraft.

--- Mission ---

HQ has decided that your flight must take out the control tower and three MANPAD positions.

Some FAC personell managed to escape and is hiding in the forest east of the runway. They will lase the targets for you.

All this time you have been flying a holding pattern 10nm off the Turkeys cost awaiting orders. You probably have enough fuel left but do wise to hook up with the refueller that just passes you by. (remember to press H

and J after refuelling to regain control of pitch and thrust respectively)

Your primairy target is the control tower. Leave that to your wingman and concentrate on the MANPAD's. Surrounding buildings must stay intact.

As soon as we start attacking targets the Partizans will most likely realized a FAC is nearby and start searching for them. Prevent this from hapening and destroy any vehicules leaving the village (1,6nm east of the

runway).

--- Notes ---

Again, it's snowing and there is a slight turbulence at low altitudes.

AWACS is expected to land at Merzifon in 40 minutes so make sure all ground threats are eliminated before that.

Land at runway 360.
