Constantly timing out on joining

Each and every time i try to join a normandy map online, i get a 'connection timed out' after like 5 mins of waiting...meaning I've got to do it 2-3 times. Sometimes i even get into the server but it still says 'connection timed out'..yet I can see the a/c select screen (but can't click on any). Anything I'm supposed to be doing differently?

ED I can't even play the friggin Normandy map because the server ALWAYS times out even if i get to select an a/c. It just times out and i have to exit the server screen.

 

If you can't fix it, then refund my money (Normandy map and WWII pack). This is BS.

Give ED something to work with, attaching your dcs log folder zipped after a failed attempt will help

 

also what is you connection speed?

what antivirus and security are you using?

is it the same for all servers?

what is the ping of the server? is it a busy one?

 

I have no problem connecting to servers myself, so it is difficult to reproduce and report

 

I have known users with minimum spec have issues in the past with busy servers, 16GB RAM will help

So there's a log folder in the main DCS file structure? I'm happy to provide info but i need to know what to include.

 

Connection speed = I usually get around 91/38mbit speeds.

Antivirus = Bitdefender 2017

Servers = it takes a while to join NTTR servers but I still get in and can use it.

Ping = 220 (I'm in Aust trying to join a US server as no Aussie servers tend to run Normandy)

RAM = 8gig

 

Is there a way i can extend the time required before timeout or is that a server setting? I've noticed i get in but timeout...maybe i can extend the timeout through some sort of config edit or something?

How does you sim run when not in multiplayer on Normandy? This new Alpha build still needs some work on the optimization side of things at the moment. 8 Gigs of ram is really only just cutting it, not sure if that's the whole problem here tho?

 

Do you have DCS on the SSD drive? Also do you have your page file pointed to this SSD too? Pointing your page file to the SSD may help some perhaps.
