Majesco Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I wonder that does the ground surface base on the water texture ? Because when I set the Water = High or Very High, fps reduces terribly even when flying in the mainland or in places far way from the sea. So I want to know: Eveything on the ground such as the ground surface, mountains, airbases, buildings.....just a layer of 3D materials and models overlay the water, right ? In my opinion, I think that almost everything on the ground based on the water texture and the water levels effect so much to the ground. The ground surface is also the water surface and that’s the reason why we get bad fps when increasing the detail of water texture.
159th_Viper Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Correct - IIRC water is rendered and present over the entire map. Evident when Frogview is enabled. As such would lead to a FPS loss if set to high and above even when over land. Have you tried the Enhanced FPS Over Water Mod? Works very well with noticeable FPS gain.
