dmatsch Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 From this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=190113 I can't use the Nodes or Templates feature on any version of the mission editor. I have both the 1.5 and 1.5 beta installed, but this has been an issue since the start. I thought that feature was broken. 1. I create a new mission in the editor 2. top menu - Mission Generator - nodes 3. right side: select a node on the map I want from the select list. Node on map is highlighted a darker color. 4. select templates to place: red defensive small 1, blue offensive large 2 etc. I can move the blue or red boxes around on the map 5. right side: click "generate" button. Nothing happens. From the thread above, the templates are supposed to be generated on the map. Can someone please point me in the right direction. I'd really like to use this feature.
Ironhand Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 Didn't realize you were still having trouble with it. As I noted the other thread, it works fine on my installation. Have you tried a repair of your install? It's worked every time I've experimented with it (it's not anything I use normally). dmatsch Posted July 11, 2017 Author Posted July 11, 2017 this issue seems to have persisted through several installs, both a re-install and on a clean system. I thought this feature was broken, so I didn't think anything of it. The whole install is on a D: drive SSD AMD 8-core processor, 24g ram, GTX 1070 The .exe is run as an admin Got any troubleshooting ideas? Is there an error log I can look at?
Ironhand Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 I believe you'll find the error.log file in the Logs folder of your Saved Games DCS World folder. Odd that the problem persists even with reinstalls assuming your clean install got rid of the DCS Saved Games folder, too. Don't think the system specs matter in this case, since the sim seems to be ignoring your GENERATE command entirely.
