Trounce Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Hello community! After watching countless videos of amazing jets (A-10 is my favorite), I was wondering if anyone can model the shaking/trembling/flexing that the wing tips exhibit in real-life that is shown when the aircraft goes in a turn or experiences turbulence? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Kippy Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hey Trounce, out of curiosity, can you show me an example of what you're talking about? From what I've seen, The A-10's wings are pretty beefy and don't tend to flex much under standard G loads, as demonstrated in this gif. 163rd vFS Discord Soaring With the Snakes, Fangs Out!
mkiii Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Yes they are built like the prevervial brick sh*thouse, and I wouldn't expect much flexing, plus the speed is probably too low to get any aerodynamic osscilations? Any real A-10 pilots out there to comment? Certainly thin winged fighters like the F-16 can have some quite scary amounts of wing flex at certain speeds/stores configuration, (modelled nicely in "the F-16 sim that we must not name"), and I suppose the F-5 would fit into that category.. Their wings are pretty slim.
Trounce Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 Oh my goodness. The wings don't flex at any visible rate on the A10C on any of the videos I looked up.
