jfri Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 I want to edit the missions in the campaign operation save badger. I start the mission editor and makes the changes I want. In this case it is to start in the air preferable at way point one so I don't need to spend the time getting there which I have done so many times. Also I try to change the weapon load. I then try to save the edited mission. After that I can start the mission stand alone by clicking the button for starting the mission, but that doesn't seem to be part of the campaign which is my intention. If I quit the editor (after saving) and try to start the campaign either it doesn't start or it start without the changes I have tried to do
feefifofum Posted July 24, 2017 Posted July 24, 2017 Hi jfri, Firstly, I'd recommend changing to "takeoff from parking hot" or "takeoff from runway" rather than an air start near WP1....I didn't write this particular .miz, but often the player passing through a specific area (called a trigger zone) is what causes mission events to occur; placing yourself at the first waypoint might skip some of these triggers and cause the mission to malfunction. As far as replacing missions in a campaign; first make a backup copy of the unedited missions in case something goes weird. Once you have your backup, open the original .miz file in the mission editor, make the desired changes, then save over the existing .miz directly. The .miz file will need to have the same name in order to be referenced by the campaign. Alternately, if you don't care about the logbook entries, you can play any mission at any time by navigating to it using the file browser in the "MISSION" menu. Hope that helped! jfri Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Hi jfri, , open the original .miz file in the mission editor, make the desired changes, then save over the existing .miz directly. The .miz file will need to have the same name in order to be referenced by the campaign. When I do this i.e make changes and 'save as' overwriting existing .miz and then go to the campaign it wont even load. If I exit DCS and restart it and then try to start the campaign it loads but my changes are not there.
feefifofum Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Shouldn't need to "save as", just hit file -> save after you make your changes. This sounds very strange. Are you able to create and edit other missions normally? THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

Are you able to create and edit other missions normally? file -> save does not do anything, no messages or confirmation and does not work. I have only tried editing this Operation save Badger campaign i.e mission two.
feefifofum Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 I would say try to re-download maybe something is off with the file itself. File -> save should work fine. These are also ancient .miz files and things can sometimes get weird. So, when you file -> save as and rename the .miz, it does create a new file? If you open THAT file in the ME, do you see the changes you've made? THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC

feefifofum Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Might be worth a try; you can always manually re-name the file in Windows explorer. You are correct that the filename will need to be the same for the .cmp to "see" it. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
