Problem aligning the radar cursor while INS update

Hi there,

I found something and wonder if it's a bug, or a realism "feature".

When I am preparing for INS update using the radar and the cursor on the HUD, I am never seem to be able to mark the point where I want to. What I mean is, after I press the INS update button , the final (new) waypoint position is always off (a couple of hundred meters) from where I pointed. I haven't made a video, because I assume everybody has the same ?

Any ideas ?

Having same issue. Whenever I point the diamond on true spot on the ground to update INS position it never gets updated :-(

INS update doesn't work properly. INS has a number for the position it thinks the airplane is and there is the true position. The difference between these two positions is the position error. In DCS the update always makes this error zero which is not how the real system works.

Ahh...I think I understand. The INS ignore's my input entirely ? Thanks, I understand how the bug works. Strange that RAZBAM went suddenly very quiet about any works being being done on the module. I take it there's no work going on on this then. Opposite to the FM work by Cpt Smiley.
