The CAM profile in STL drawings is slight different from pictures, but is the last revision. Edited August 21, 2017 by Sokol1_br 1
debolestis Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Problem with that, in my opinion, is that cams need to be stronger, especially if warthog grip is going to be used. Than strong spring must be used and I think that 3D printed cams will simply break. Other than that great work. - Debolestis' Shapeways store - Debolestis' Facebook page - Suncom SFS and Talon restoration and mods - Cougar replacement gimbal
Sokol1_br Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) Sure, the guy did this for Cobra M5 base and use Saitek grip, certainly result better that Cobra/Saitek gimbals. https://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_08_2017/post-98424-0-35981300-1502740803.jpg Seems he not even consider spring use, but rubber bands only due the format of support. Warthog solution - other than VKB, VirPil, Bauer bases - needs to be created yet. :) Edited August 16, 2017 by Sokol1_br

Sokol1_br Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 I want try this gimbal, but local option for 3D print is limited (one professional 3D print service want $1000+!!!), what I find "affordable" has only this material: PLA or ABS What material you guys that have experience with this suggest use, of the above options? I can use Shapeways service, but this implicates in pay ~110% in local custom taxes.
debolestis Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 ABS is steonger, to bad you have custom taxes, nylon from shapeways is awesome. - Debolestis' Shapeways store - Debolestis' Facebook page - Suncom SFS and Talon restoration and mods - Cougar replacement gimbal
propeler Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Hi guys :) I do not know if CAMs are strong anough for WARTHOG stick and strong springs, but printed from PETG plastick with realy low infill they are more than strong for use with Saitek stick and standarsd Cobra M5 springs. Latest CAM profile with Cobra springs create load on stick comparable to Cobra M5 but without strong center. I think that PETG with high infill can accept even WARTHOG stick.... Or... You can adapt size and form for CNC milling etc. Project is free for use and modification, and sources available in Solidworks format :) I can use Shapeways service, but this implicates in pay ~110% in local custom taxes. Use 3dhubs.com :) Here are comparable prices for WHOLE set of parts in your location. Edited August 23, 2017 by propeler
