Chaosduck7 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 (edited) I'm in VR and I cant even see the KC-130 thats maybe 200 meters away from me. It LITERALLY disappears. And this is NOT a vr problem, because its not any better on a 2d monitor at 1920x1080. Its actually almost exactly the same. The issue is not resolution. Ive tried both in VR AND on a 2d monitor in MANY scenarios. Cant see ground targets in the KA50 either, I have to rely on drawing their fire and see where the tracers are coming from. Please, can you introduce some sort of smart scaling? As far as im concerned, this should literally be priority number 1. Edited August 22, 2017 by Chaosduck7
PeaceSells Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 I feel your pain. I guess maybe if they increase the contrast between the planes/units and the background it would solve the problem, right now they blend too easily. SharkBaztard Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) I mainly play in 1.5 at the moment.. Strangely enough I see targets easiest on the ground from very far away. They are a dark grey blob, I slew my TDP and point track the area/blob; when I get close I can find them much much easier?! It's like I have a sort of model scaling set to "large" but I don't even have that option in my menu, lol. Edited August 23, 2017 by SharkBaztard
PeaceSells Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Do you have anti-aliasing off? My DCS modding videos: Modules I own so far: Black Shark 2, FC3, UH-1H, M-2000C, A-10C, MiG-21, Gazelle, Nevada map
Chaosduck7 Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 Do you have anti-aliasing off? Yes and I have tried multiple combinations of settings.
Magic Zach Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) What I have done is increase my contrast in my computer's graphic settings, as well as how vivid colors are. DCS used to look painfully BLUE, but now I get nice reds and yellows. The contrast helps a little, although just a little. What I have found is that antialiasing can really help sometimes. While you might not see the effects at FIRST, it will definitely improve your spotting! I went from having no aa, to x4, and I can spot aircraft twice as far as I used to! It also helps to improve spotting of ground targets. Though, with the default Caucasus textures, ground units are frighteningly well camouflaged against the ground. PeaceSells Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Yes and I have tried multiple combinations of settings. I actually have no experience in VR. My experience in normal monitor is that antialiasing off sometimes helps spotting ground vehicles, but I'm not sure about aircraft.
