Precog Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 DCS is so confusing when it comes to wind direction. Last night a JTAC gave me the wind direction - 200 degrees 7m/s. Turns out it was the direction wind was blowing TO. Is this correct? I've only know wind direction based on where it's blowing from. As for m/s, is this standard too? I would have thought n Knots would be more appropriate. Confused  Check out my 'real world' video series [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Oscar Juliet Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Well you asked and answered your question at the same time. If that is how he is giving it to you that is correct. JTAC in DCS is also extremely buggy. You'll find out the more you use it. One moment it works perfect and the next it won't. We use to use it on our server and thought for the longest time inexperienced pilot's were the cause of it not working. Turns out its just bugged and will not work for random reasons. So now we use a JTAC script. But that has nothing to do with your question. My Youtube Channel
Robin_Hood Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 The Mission Editor has this bizarre quirk where the wind direction is the direction the wind is blowing to (or, maybe it's simply how it's done in Russia) instead of from. Seems the JTAC does that too. Not sure if it is possible to (like the coordinates format). 2nd French Fighter Squadron
kylekatarn720 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Just use CDU's LASTE page for accurate wind info. If you dont know how to Check out this thread
