SageOT Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 I don't own one. Shipping to the US was too much $ for me to justify. However, I did buy the file only version of the new F18 pit. Great quality to the graphics and very accurate and well put together drawings. I have a couple of sign shops around me that I am pretty sure can cut and print it local. Just haven't had time to reach out to them yet. Lukas from DFB was great to work with and very responsive to emails. Went above and beyond in working with me for what I wanted on the custom pit exterior. I purchased the Hornet pit - it has worked out nicely for me. Haven't got out the tape measure to double check distances, but it fits together nicely. Saved me many hours :) cheers Peter 1

bnepethomas Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Hey mate it wasn't me that bought it, that was Peter who I was replying to. They last for a while - I haven't installed them yet - sitting on another pit waiting for me to complete the warning indicators - it is the weirdest thing turning off the lights and seeing a glow from the other side of the room :) They do look pretty cool! cheers Peter
Brewnix Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 @AndrewW oops sorry thanks for the correction. @bnepethomas Thanks! I thought that it was a cool idea, able to illuminate panels with out wiring led's. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mozart Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 (edited) Review Hi. I got a dogfightboss A-10 cockpit about 2 years ago. I had it sent to me printed and cut, because german printing industry was way more expensive. It was designed in Patrouille Suisse colors (ok, that's not A-10 they are flying, but I didn't want camouflage sitting around), and I love just the way it looks great in my basement. The build is done in an afternoon with a hot glue gun and lots of fun. It takes a few weeks for the odor of the paint to go away. The cockpit offers great space options to put the VR headset and keyboard and some accessories on the side consoles. I glued some 3d printed clamps on the side, so I can dismantle the collective when I need to use the airplane throttle. The cutout in the instrument panel has an LCD screen, and I can lower a screen in front and project outside view. But I mainly use VR now. My regular chair sits a little high, I am waiting for a wood built ACES seat replica, but that will take a while. I might cut the legs of the chair a little, but that's only for better ergonomics with the pedals. I didn't glue the glare shield cover on, so I can open it and access the screen and the loudspeakers. I also wanted to check for overheating inside, but it's not a problem. Some cardboard flaps like the one right to the instrument panel should be glued so they are not hanging down, but I never took the effort. It gets a bit more of the used look and I don't mind. I don't have glowing paint. The strength is sufficient for the way I use it, but I think it would suffer soon if you tried to enter the cockpit over the side instead of pulling out the chair to the back. Bumps into the side could damage the surface of the paint, so I take care there. The computer sits in front next to the cockpit. I needed some extension cords. You can easily cut holes where you need to run the cables. For me it was the perfect solution to get a dedicated cockpit space without a month long building project. It is not a perfect simulation of one airplane, but it is a low effort, high fun solution. Hope this helps, Mozart. Retried pic upload Edited January 21, 2018 by Mozart comment about pic orientation
