Anyone using Prescription Lenses with the Pimax Crystal?
Bullant replied to eFirehawk's topic in Virtual Reality
I have the honsvr lenses and they are great. I did have to buy the 15mm face gasket as I kept knocking one of the lenses off with the thinner one. I have found that the 15mm gasket doesn't fit my head as well and there is a tiny bit of light leakage at the sides, but I don't even notice once I start flying. -
I think I am seeing the same thing: I have just started getting this problem with a Pimax Crystal, OpenXR, MT DCS. In cockpit it beautiful, no lag at all, hit F10, the map comes up and it becomes a slideshow, literally locks up the entire PC, mouse doesn't even move. Hit F1 and after a minute or 2 I am back in the cockpit and everything is perfect again. This happens in both single and multiplayer, tested on both Persian Gulf and Syria. Funny enough, it doesn't seem to happen on Caucasus in SP.

First In, Last Out! F-4E Wild Weasel Trailer and Manual release!

Damn it, was holding out but this video made me pony up for the pre-order. Good work to all involved. -
3.1.1 Primary Flight Instruments - Altimeter first paragraph seems incorrect, it talks about an errors tolerance in knots for a device that reports altitude in feet. I am guessing that it is supposed to say "+/- 3 feet below 80kts and +/- 5 feet above that airspeed"?

My 3090 does pretty damn good with the G2. I mean I am currently looking at upgrading to a 4090, but I'm crazy like that. I can get 50fps with pretty damn good settings in single player, so honestly the 3090 + OpenXR is a very nice combination.

SkateZilla, first up thanks for an awesome tool and you really need a donate button. This may be moot point with the new update coming soon but since I built my new PC I am having a problem where the presets dropped down is greyed out and no matter what I do I can't get it to enable so that I can select a preset. It has always worked in the past, wondering if you have any ideas on a possible cause or fix? And if you are ever looking for another Beta Tester

I was having exactly the same thing with the built in OpenXR (inverted and 180 view), it was one of the reasons I went back to using OpenComposite.

Have a look at the individual core usage, and you will find that one two cores are pegged at 100%. I run a i7-10700k with 32Gb RAM, 3090 and G9, and I consistently get 50fps with higher settings than what you have there. I daresay the CPU is the issue. If you bring up the openxr advanced FPS overlay, it will tell you if the CPU is the bottleneck.

Shadows to off in 2.8 gives me near 2.7 performance. I'd love 90fps in VR, but I know that isn't happening any time soon. I was flying the Huey in Marinaris, and the P51 over the Channel tonight and getting 40fps+ on my G2 with pretty much everything maxed and MSAAx4 so that is keeping me pretty happy.

Agreed with both these suggestions, love the new counter and the fact that it works in VR! But I have no idea which line on the frame rate is CPU and which is GPU. If we could also have a numeric value displayed alongside the graph that would be even better, I really can't differentiate between 15 and 20 ms on the graph, and that is a HUGE difference to performance.

need track replay Ground override for master arm breaks George
Bullant replied to Bullant's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sure thing, I will do this tomorrow. We had a group of squad mates all flying the apache this evening and we stumbled upon this issue, it was happening to all of us. -
Played 2 hours in a multiplayer server with 8 or 9 other apaches taking out ground targets. Not a single stutter. So awesome.

And yet mine is buttery smooth, better than some other aircraft, even in Syria. Go figure.
-
3090, G2, fholger's openvr fsr mod, smooth as butter and so easy to read the displays, wish the hornet was this good!
-
Winwing collective ordered and due for delivery 1st of December, would be lovely if the Apache dropped on the 3rd

Go to you saved games/DCS/scripts folder, open export.lua and check if there are the following two lines referencing the winwing exports, if so remove them. local wwtlfs=require('lfs') dofile(wwtlfs.writedir()..'Scripts/wwt/wwtExport.lua') They added an option in the last version of simappro to not put these entries back every time the app starts up, the other alternative is to go to the simappro settings and point the saved games folder setting to another empty folder so it doesn't mess with your actual saved games folder. My CPU frametimes dropped from 28+ ms to 8ms by removing the WW exports!

Horrible performance with RTX 3080 / Reverb G2 / and VR
Bullant replied to rss0900's topic in Virtual Reality
I can get 45 fps with reasonable settings and 100% Steam SS with my 2080 so you should be killing it with the 3080. -
Is that with the same DCS settings as previously? Because that is a huge GPU frametime drop if it is.
-
Champion! Thanks mate.

I know this sounds crazy, but try setting Shadows to at least Medium. Entirely removed all in cockpit flickers on hard edges.

Stupid question time, recently upgraded from Rift S to Reverb G2. I am wondering if there is any way to turn off the screen mirroring in WMR? I understand that the screen mirroring in the DCS app itself is zero-low "cost" GPU/CPU wise, but not so sure about the WMR mirroring and it feels really strange having two separate applications mirroring the VR display.
