They're better in different regimes, AFAIK - but not kings.

In general an F-15 wants to kill things as far away from it as possible ... but it doesn't mean that (gun)dogfighting is out of the question, or that you will lose just because you're in an F-15.

Remember in a war it won't be 1v1, and now many things aside from your ability to turn and burn enter into the equation. In any case, the F-15 is an energy fighter, not a turn fighter (but that's not to say it's a slouch in turning - just not on par with the light fighters)

My point is that an F-16A (especially the lighter A) mostly wins in dogfight exercises (RL) against an F-15C.

Of course we are discussing 1vs1 dog-fighting exercises ;) .

Anyway the faster jet is turning in larger circles and the slower jet is turning in the inner circle.

In my opinion you better be in the inner circle (this is just my personal experience anyway)

Inside the circle is where you want to be, but it isn't that simple. Dogfighting doesn't consist of just a pair of flat turns. F-16's win because they (as far as I know BTW, don't take this as gospel or anything) go into defensive spirals and whatnot, forcing the F_15 to follow where the F-16's perform well. If missiles were part of the game, they wouldn't be doing this. If the F-16 stays high, it'll get pounded on, too. So it's all about getting the other guy out of where he flies well, and into where you fly well (and by that I mean altitude, speed, personnal comfort/tactics ... any and all of this)

Ok, let clear some, it does not exist special trick or tip to take the six of yer opponent. Forget the crap tips about burning fuel sooner, poping chaft flare out to be lighter or other special set up with the editors you know.

PIL you dont need to use different engines management to perform what i did ;)

come back in engine balance again take to much time to help after the instataneous turn, that why i m not using it so much.

it is just question of balance beetwen what you learned during your practice, or own flight :book: , and find creativity in the right timing.

fly the basic with discipline and forget all when it is time :pilotfly:

i like BvR specialy when you are flying with yer team mates,or aerobatic, but you ll find yerself in a good dogfight, that why i love it.

to be inside or outside , ermm depend G, speed, alltitude, angle of, vertical speed , range, or other psichological pressure yuo had give to your opponent.... many way to fly , experience will increase your skill in those kinda fight, and you are welcome in =RVE=Airline

PaP smell yer ass6, see ya

So do something to spoil his shot. Or alternatively, don't miss ;)

But if you come down on his beam or close to, he likely won't have the time to turn onto you for a snapshot when you come out the other side (low speed=turn rate suffers). This of course might not be practical, but these slicing attacks are 'it'.

Or we need the Harrier as additional plane in Lock-On. I've watched BFM with Harriers, they went like this: "Fight is on.." ...20 min stationary blips..... "Terminate"...

Booooooooooring....

kind regards,

I am totally clueless about harriers. What is the 20 min stationary story “Terminate” about?

The bird is aged indeed but it still is a lethal fighter jet especially after AMRAAM-upgrade.

This depends on the altitude of the engagement. High-altitude, the Eagle is going to eat the Falcon. :)

OK the mystery is partialy solved. Rudder does have more authority for turns than pitching, and my stick didnt go to the fullest extent in the control pannel test window... I have since fixed it and my kill ratio improved alot. :)
