Lixma 06 Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) According to the manual the laser can run for a minute before needing to cool down. But in-game you can leave the laser switched on and have fun ground stabilising/designate targets all day long without the laser complaining. Try a) turning the laser on and flying around b) flying up high and ground stabilising the laser - in both cases the laser will burn and burn. It's only when you fire a weapon or two that the laser suddenly requires a cooling period.....and even then it's iffy. There's also some strange laser behaviour that's better shown than described.... Esac_mirmidon Posted November 2, 2017 Posted November 2, 2017 The laser designator in general has two modes. The Range meassure Mode. Less energy required, only distance with laser pulse. The designation Mode. Continuous operation, more energy to guide weapons. I think you enter the second Mode when you fire the weapons. " You must think in russian.."
