schurem Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 (edited) Howdy y'all, I fly in VR and use labels to enhance the low resolution. I have built myself a weapon training mission to get used to bombing and shooting different targets. It works nicely. However, I found the ground labels to become a bit of a clutter if there are more of them in a small space. Therefore I wanted to edit the labels file. In /DCS/Config/View there's a labels.lua and a readme.txt that tells me to make a labels.lua in /Saved Games/DCS/Config/view and edit that one. So i made some simple edits (changed only distances at first). The effect was unexpected: labels could no longer be turned on! So I reverted to the unedited version. Labels worked again! HUH! As soon as I so much as *touch* the labels.lua file, it breaks the labels system. I am using windows 10 notepad to do the edits. What gives? Help me obi wan keforum! Черный Дракул Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I use Notepad++ for the edits. Works fine. They are not vulching... they are STRAFING!!! :smartass::thumbup:
schurem Posted November 11, 2017 Author Posted November 11, 2017 thanks man, that did it. Still weird that standard regular notepad frells the file somehow. I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL
wrl11 Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 windows notepad adds hidden formatting codes, but notepad++ does not. .
