griffin12 Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I'm following this tutorial: But when I turn on the screen, I only see gray. When I switch to external view, I see the camera on the roof moving and turning when I press the keys, but all it shows is this. What am I doing wrong?
noisy_lightning Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Could be the contrast/brightness is not set right on the TV screen or the IR camera is just cooling down and you need to give it a while longer?
gabuzomeu Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 HI, First make sur the start up procedure is fully completed (not the case on your screenshot, use the (LeftWin - Home cheatto start to make sure this is OK and track down the problem) you have a TV and an IR channel. The IR needs indeed to cool down (4minutes). Also, you may want to go back and forth from P to Ass and back to P on the switch on the console. Good luck! Nop, I've been touching the brightness/contrast knobs and all I get are lighter and darker greys. I left it running for arount 10 minutes and nothing changes HI, First make sur the start up procedure is fully completed (not the case on your screenshot, use the (LeftWin - Home cheatto start to make sure this is OK and track down the problem) you have a TV and an IR channel. I have started it with the cheat, and left it running for 5 minutes, but get the same result. Changing the mode doesnt yield a different result either. I'm uploading my last track here so you can see it.GreyTV.trk
SnowTiger Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I trust is is safe to assume that you HAVE tried starting with the "Centering Toggle Switch" so that you know exactly where the camera is pointing ? In the vast majority of cases, you won't need to make any lighting/contrast adjustments at least for the initial views and test to confirm its working. When warming the system up, leave the Camera in the "ASS" Mode. If you are not getting a good clear picture within a few minutes (during daytime !) and without making any adjustments, then yes .. you have a problem. griffin12 Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 Well. I don't know what I was doing wrong but it appears that I'm not doing it anymore because it's working fine now. :)
Drakoz Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I had the same issue today in DCS 2.2 and confirmed that DCS 2.5 has the problem. I solved it by changing my graphics settings. DCS 1.5.7 does not show the problem. I found that changing MSAA to 4x or 8x would prevent the TV screen from showing a camera image. I would get the cross hair, but no image. But MSAA 2x or less works fine. I run an nVidia GTX 1080. I noticed there is a new update to the nVidia drivers and after installing it, now I can use MSAA 4X or 8X and the TV camera works.
