Black_Hawk Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Defragment your disc. Delete your sounds folder. It completely removed lag issues for me. Of course, it is strange to fly with no sounds so I got back my sounds. Kill the effects like heat blur, civil traffic, advanced haze (depends on day/night mission), shadow options (active planar is enough). Light and Effects settings don't take too much FPS. Get rid of the canopy scratches, and the canopy reflections if you feel like it. Turn the mirrors off. They eat a LOT of FPS in MP. Set water to lowest level if you're not doing carrier ops (I just love the water around the Kuz :D), otherwise to medium. Tweak the visibility distances I'll post my visibility distance settings once I get back home 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Pilotasso Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 Micro-pauses or mini-lags while being in Combat on online servers: Here everyone can post REASONS and SOLUTIONS doesnt matter GfX or Net. PLZ ! :book: :helpsmilie: But it matters the rest of your system. ;) I would reccomend to check wich background programs you have loaded. Temperature monitors are infamous to cause micro pauses and stutters, at least for me they always did. Swich off anti-virus and the likes, investigate wich background programs you need and those that got there by installing programs that you dont. Download accelerators keep checking for the newest advertising files to place on their banners. I found out mine did, even when I had swiched it off, but it had a service going on at all times. Access your bios and put AGP apperture on 256MB, and dont be greedy with AA and Alias. ;) .
A.S Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 thx guys thx very much System is P660 64Emt on 4ghz Motherboard is AA8XE on 1140MHZ FSB Ram 1GB 8000UL Corsair on 760MHZ GFX is 7800 GTX GS Gainward and if i start PC i have only 12 Processes running ( no worry i know how to tweak PC and Net and so on ) but i was hoping to find some major solutions what i havent heard b4. These Lags also happen if GFX in Lomac is very friendls setted so i think there must be another reason some servers on HL are running very good like VVS or Jabog but some are not playable with full joy like RAF for example. What helps a bit is this, but not an overall solution Open X:\LockON\Config\network\config.lua with editor and add these lines }; ["LAN 10 Mbit/s"] = { downstream = 500000; upstream = 500000; }; ["Modem 56.6K"] = { downstream = 5000; upstream = 3000; }; ["xDSL 128/128 Kbit/s"] = { downstream = 16000; upstream = 16000; }; ["xDSL 90/90 Kbit/s"] = { downstream = 11250; upstream = 11250; }; ["Modem 33.6K"] = { downstream = 3000; upstream = 1000; And then u can select the connection in gameoption as client There was a good old Jabog-Netcode Mod back in time did excatly the same so i explain here the way to change it manualy. What helps enourmous even increases FPS like hell is if u change all the Mode3D = true values to false in sound.cfg but then u hear EVERYTHING without range fading and non 3D. (the maverick hit 4km away is a brainboost   ) Most times it happens is when i am in a missile fight (Walmis is installed also). It must not run in best look but at least smooth in tactical aspect so...... :helpsmilie: really thx for any ideas.... /O [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

A.S Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 AS, what size is your's Win virtual memory? min 1024MB and max 1024MB same [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Scart Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 try to change both to 2048, but i think you need some more physical memory to have smooth play. I have 2 gigs and no freezes for a long time ~30-40 min of play. Also try to decrease view distance in grath settings. edit: also try different settings of loading distance [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] летаю на заказ, дорого... Pilotasso Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 min 1024MB and max 1024MB same HA-HAAAA!! Thats whats wrong! WOW Im surprised you can even run the game for long. I tryed this setting and my PC got realy stuck untill it crashed within minutes. You need at least 1.5 Gigs of virtual memory. All that stickiness is goint to make YOU laggy not the others. I highly, I mean HIGHLY recommend an extra GIG if RAM (like Scart said). It makes huge impact on stutters, trust me. I also bought an extra hard drive to place my swap file, and it was further enhanced. this happens because with the second drive you can place the SWAP file at the beggining of it (not so with your OS drive because the systems reserves this space for itself) using certain utilities found on the net. The gain results from Lockon loads being independent and silmultaneous to the search of the swap file data on the second disk. Search for tweak XP Pro 4 to change your SWAP file drive and VoptXP V7 to move it arround the drive (also works for main drive but it will be placed in the middle rather than the beggining because windows doesnt allow it). After optimized you will be surprised how much better LOMAC plays. On your 4 GHz machine it will feel like a whole new PC. .
