Waypoint Indicator (in Artificial Horizon) is Not Working

Recommended Posts

Today is the first time I have flown the Gaz in a week or so (due to Trim issues).

DCS 1.5 OB is up to date with the latest patch/update.

I have waypoints set in this mission I have created (and flown many times previously).

But for some reason today, my course alignment needle in the Artificial Horizon is not working at all.

As always, I have the "?" switch set to DOP but the needle doesn't seem to do anything.

The NADIR/ADF waypoint indicator needle seems to be working fine.

PS> Everything is warmed up before take off so the Mileage Counter is activated etc. So I don't understand why the Waypoint Indicator in the Artificial Horizon is No Longer Working ?

I apologize. Please Disregard this topic for the moment.

I paused to write that report and when I jumped back into the cockpit, it now "seems" to be working.

I will update OR delete this thread as necessary as soon as I can confirm.

The ADI DOP function no longer works the way it did.

...

- Changed the ART/VIS/VHF/DOP selector function when in DOP position

Now in DOP position the vertical and horizontal bars of the main horizon will show respectively the lateral and longitudinal speeds of the helicopter.

This function may be used to ease hovering when the bars are centered the speeds are close to 0

...

I guess DOP might stand for DOPpler radar ?

Ramsay >> Thanks for that. I never noticed this in the update logs.

I liked the way it worked before but I'll get used to this I'm sure.

Continuously Relearning.

At the moment the new DOP hover assist function is active in all modes and "overrides" the waypoint indicator. (tested in 1.5.8OpenBeta and 2.2OpenAlpha)

I've already reported it to Polychop at Facebook, but finally created an account in the ED Forums now :)

I can only imagine how it works in the real helicopter, but it might be attached to the NADIR parameter selector (the upper knob labeled VENT, (...) , P.P., BUT)
P.P. means current position, so it could be used enable the hover assist?

BUT means waypoint, and so it switches to the waypoint indicator?
But even if this might be a convinient way to switch between artificial horizon functions, please implement it as it is in real life

best regards,

Hendrik
