Nooch Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 I've come across this mod (which is excellent by the way) but the installation requires to overwrite stock DCS files and thus I might have to reinstall the mod everytime there is an update/repair. I'd like to know how to make DCS see it as a mod so that it stays permanently installed. Do I have to put the sound files in a specific folder, create .lua file or both? Many thanks for your help! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Morpheus Posted December 16, 2017 Posted December 16, 2017 You can install sound mod in ...\Saved Games\DCS\Sounds\Effect\Aircrafts\Cockpit, you have to create manually these folders and copy/paste the 2 files in it (must have exactly same name taht stock files) and update will not overwrite yous sounds :smilewink: 1
Nooch Posted December 16, 2017 Author Posted December 16, 2017 Shouldn't it be ...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\Sounds\Effect\Aircrafts\Cockpit instead? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Morpheus Posted December 17, 2017 Posted December 17, 2017 No, at the beginning I did this but no effect, you can see in DCS "Sounds" folder is not in Mods, no reason to put it in Saved Games\Mods and all sound mods you find to download go in "Sounds\...." folder. I have several sound mods and they work perfectly in ...Saved Games\DCS (.openalpha/beta)\Sounds :smilewink:
Nooch Posted December 17, 2017 Author Posted December 17, 2017 Alright! I appreciate your help thanks a lot. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
