Soundwave197 Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I was testing something and used the VFR landing training for the AV8B in 1.5 open beta. (Latest update with missing hud lines) I was hovering stationary really low on the ground (ca 20-50m) and extended the gear when i noticed the plane gets pushed up by like 200-300m. It feels like i increased the throttle by 5-10% but i didnt do anything exept keeping the jet stationary and extending the gear. The Engine RPM also didnt go up and stayed the same. When retracting the gear its the exact oposit. I will fall like a rock. Is this normal or a bug? Im not at home at the moment but i can upload the recording when im back home this evening. QuiGon Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Page 13 of the pocket guide: Lift Improvement Device System (LIDS) The lift improvement device system (LIDS) is part of the landing gear system. The LIDS, composed of fixed strakes and a retractable fence, increase lift by 1200 pounds by directing the jet fountain energy and reducing hot air reingestion in ground effect. The LIDS fence normally extends and retracts with the landing gear. MrDieing Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Check behind the front wheel when you extend, you will see the LIDS extend after a second or so after the gear has deployed :) ''Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.''
