bobd Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 Some time ago I was getting "usb disconnect sound" going off repeatedly when ever the computer (win10 64) went into monitor sleep mode. I think MS fixed it, but with recent updates it has returned. Anyone know how to fix now? tia. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K , 32 GB DDR4, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti , Win10 64, Rift CV1 & S VR
Cibit Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 I forget the wording but somewhere in settings you can set USB to never power down. It was a problem with the rift at one point. Ok device manager>USB controllers. Select which one and disable power management. BitMaster Posted December 21, 2017 Posted December 21, 2017 that from Cibit and you can also dig into the Energy Settings-->High Perf. Mode--> Settings-->selective USB energy saving --->>> turn that OFF. Aside from that, too low LLC in Bios can cause this too, so does a too high or too low VCC-IO current in Bios. Both only applies if you somehow use overclocking on Z170 and later boards Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
bobd Posted December 22, 2017 Author Posted December 22, 2017 Thanks guys, not sure what to do in device manager, still looking. BitMaster, if you mean "USB selective suspend setting", it's disabled. Asus ROG Z390, I9 9900K , 32 GB DDR4, EVGA GTX 2080 Ti , Win10 64, Rift CV1 & S VR
