RB-15's disapear

I fire my RB-15's at the target, I head for home, a few minutes later I get shot down by enemy action and my 2 RB-15's just disappear altogether, I thought these were fire and forget fully autonomous missiles, why do they not continue on to target?

Because of a limitation in the DCS engine, that will remove the RB-15s upon your death.
