Dingo_Bob Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 (edited) you could also try the digital vibrance slider for your display in nvidia control panel to counter the washed out look, a couple of % to the + side makes a big colour difference (crap phone & crop quaility, needs to been seen on a monitor for proper effect) 75% 50% Edited January 15, 2018 by Dingo_Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Modules are like Pokemon you gotta catch 'em all :joystick::lol::pilotfly: AMD Ryzen7 3700x, G-Skills 32Gb RAM @ 3200Mhz, MSI GTX1080Ti, TM Warthog (20cm extension by Sahaj), MFG Crosswind Pedals, Oculus Rift, Track Ir5
Fakum Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 @ DirkLarien: Thanks for the detailed info! Im sure a lot of us appreciate that info. Resolution of cockpit displays : Yes, I am using Helios to export many things including the Shkval and I did see a noticeable difference setting it to where I have it. Trees : Yes, that is my current setting. Keep in mind there are so many threads out there discussing these particular settings in the DCS GUI, and I have in the recent past fiddle with these settings based on advice,, still fiddling. Anisotropc filtering : I have that off based on Post # 2 advice, Work in progress. Fullscreen : I believe I need to run in full screen to run Helios, but I will double check that. @ Ding Bob : I had no idea that existed, which I find odd at the moment. I believe I skimmed through Nvidia control panel in the recent past to see what I could fiddle with. Anyway, it is certainly worth looking at. Appreciate the tip and the comparison screen shots! No problem mate. If you really want REAL boost do try editing those terrain presets. It is not hard. There is an old guide how to do it. Yes it is old (back when dcs was just black shark :) ) But after reading it you will have better idea about what you are changing. Oh and instead of editing file stated in that guide, edit one of those those terrain files. Here is that old guide. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwiFrvyzrN3YAhVFZFAKHeo8AswQFggpMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums.eagle.ru%2Fattachment.php%3Fattachmentid%3D35686%26d%3D1264467632&usg=AOvVaw3jyD6zDCCwVvo-yGEfUROO Lightning livery for M2000
Fakum Posted January 16, 2018 Author Posted January 16, 2018 WOW,, just fiddling for 10 minutes and WOW! great results. Switching to Full Screen made a great improvement to FPS. Only thing with that is, DCS starts up as split screen on 1 monitor when I start DCS due to Helios stuff, but a quick Alt Tab for reasons unknown to me sets everything right. I even set MSAA back to on, AA to 16 and a few other changes and the graphics look MUCH better,, I havnt even fiddles with Digital Vibrance in Nvidia yet either. Thanks guys!
