LC34 Posted January 29, 2018 Author Posted January 29, 2018 Id like to do a big wall map of the areas we have to fly in, but I cant figure out how to print it off the way I want. I have no problem with taping them together, did anyone one print them off as a wall map and tape like I'm attempting to do? If so, which settings do you usually have to mess with to get it to print on several pages? AMD Ryzen 7 7800X#D 64 GB Ram MSI RTX 4090 Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS
Fri13 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Title asks it all. Ive done a few maps and my hotas setup to have handy when I cant keep myself on one aircraft for long enough to be second nature to me. How about everyone else. I use to think about making HOTAS map, but it is just far more easier to go in settings and press your HOTAS and see what function you had binded. It refresh nicely all as you same time spend time for a muscle memory part instead just staring a paper, and you can do that in VR too! The map part is that I wanted to have a airfield data, beacons etc radio frequencies that was nice to read. But actual kneepad is something fancy and I like use for a drawing option there so you can doodle something to map like general RWR angles, times and fuel amounts etc. So laminated A4 size board next to you was easy and nice but not possible to use in VR. So.... then there is always a mods like https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/369734/ But doodling virtually something to it is not just possible so nicely as you don't have ruler or such easy way just to use marker. But you don't need to make prints and laminate them etc. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

If so, which settings do you usually have to mess with to get it to print on several pages? You need to use either an application that does the printing from PDF as is, or then use a image editor to slice the map to wanted paper sizes and then print them. To give some guides: https://rasterbator.net/ You will get a big wall done with multiple pages, but check first how to get the bleed (paper edges) to be non-existing so you don't need to cut any paper afterwards (if your printer allows to print to the edge) and then you just have a big puzzle in your hands :D i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
BitMaster Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 (edited) I misused a real big HP printer 9050DN to print all available manuals like 2 years ago. THOUSANDS of pages. What a mistake ! I needed help to carry it to my car, many boxes, actually very unhandy to use and eventually they all ended in the paper waste bin. If there were real books to buy, I'd may get one or the other, for men's best place to study :D ...and I must admit; I havent read a single manual. The only pages I read were certain topics and schemes, like RWR. I really mis the books as in old days. I would have read them all, many times over by now. PDF on an iPad is not my style, I sometimes do it but I prefer a real book, like in B O O K. Times change and I guess we have to get over it, those days with printed manuals are gone.
