FSKRipper Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 The trees in 1.5.8 looked way better, and worked much better. FragBum Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Trees slow me down when I hit them, just saying. :D The trees slider is annotated % and if I put it on 0% I get no trees and correspondingly more trees as I set it to higher values. Even at high levels some still grow out of the ground but no biggie except when it's in front of me. The other thing is some times the trees shift as I approach. I guess just some optimisation to be made to control when the trees get formed verse what your looking at. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Balzarog Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) Even 2xAA is killing my frames, with Nvidia settings set to 2x "enhance application settings." Flat shadows on too. Getting 28-24fps when flying low. I don't understand all this "low FPS" concern. If you don't show your FPS, can you tell when it drops? I usually have between 25 and 45 FPS in VR, and if I don't show the the FPS, I see no indication that it changed. Outside of lag or stuttering, which I haven't had since adjusting my settings for 2.5, I haven't noticed any difference in game play when at 25 FPS than at 45 FPS. Are we over analyzing things here? Are there any quantitative data ( not just "perceptions") on how FPS affects multiplayer? This is a serious question. I get the feeling that too many are chasing that goal of high FPS when it isn't necessary instead of just enjoying the sim. A Ferrari is fast and cool, but a Mini Cooper still gets you to your destination the same as the Ferrarri. The problem also comes from the inconsistency of the framerate, it's very noticeable and annoying because you see the sim is slowing down. Then there are the freezings which is of course much worse. Another aspect of the low framerate is the relatively lower responsiveness, which is critical in a combat simulator.
