Exporting MFDs tutorial

When I search the forums there appears to be a plethora of random tidbits of information on how to export MFDs, setting X/Y coords, etc.

 

However, is there a beginning-to-end tutorial on this stuff? All of the information I have looked up appears to be as if you already have a base knowledge of how this stuff works. I do not, and I'm having trouble figuring out where to start. Google searches are similar, too.

 

Any assistance to find a export/.lua for dummies would be helpful.

For MFDs, you can try this as a start. I too had to learn tidbits here and there, but I do have a background in this stuff, so the learning curve wasn't as steep.

There is also the program from SGT_BAKER (search for the username). The program allows you to point-n-click exports. But he is awaiting 2.5 GA to launch. Previously, just about every update broke the program, apparently.
