That wind thingy blurs the HUD with NVG

That wind thingy outside the cockpit is blurring a bit of the HUD when looking through the NVG.

 

Is it because that thing is emitting some light and that's causing the blurred bit in the NVG?

When you have the NVG formation lights on there is an element in the wind vane which also illuminates. This is that illumination. Can try turning down the formation lights and that may help.
