Freeze when trying to place a Ka-50 in the mission editor

I'm fine to place anything else. Even other helicopters. But if I try to place a Ka-50, the game seems to struggle with it. Won't open the loadouts screen, and after enough clicking and trying it eventually just hard freezes.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello,

Thanks for the speedy reply!

I went through the procedure, and I'm now able to *place* a Ka-50, however the mission editor freezes when I click on the loadouts tab.

ok, deleted mission editor folder and repaired.

Hard to tell if it's helped, the mission editor still doesn't seem to want to load the map itself. I see names of towns and some symbols, but no actual topography. Either its taking a long time to load in, or not loading in at all. Same issue when clicking on loadouts screen. (something to do with texture loading because of the liveries? should I be waiting longer to try?) the load times can't be normal.

Here's an updated Logs file if it's any help.

EDIT: After clicking on DCS, I've got about 3 minutes or so of a black screen, then about 1 minute of an actual progress bar with the DCS logo before im at the main menu. From there, I click on mission editor and it's about a minute or 2 before I'm in the editor, and from there the map shows mostly blue for at least 2-3 minutes. Actual mission load times are another 2-3 minutes at least.

Hi

I would wait longer to be honest, with an 8gb system it will take sometime to load first time.

Once it has loaded fully it should be better there after.

Ok, so it would seem that patience is the key here. I let the mission editor load in for a few more minutes, so that the entire Caucasus map loaded in. At that point, i was able to place aircraft and muck with loadouts. Seems they take a bit more loading time than everything else. Played a couple missions, and it seems like I'm off to the races.

Thanks for the help, I do appreciate it. :)

Good to hear.

More optimisation is being done currently, and a memory issue is being worked on, so you may see improvement in the future.
