Boosterdog
Hello, I know this question or issue has been raised many times but I'm struggling to find anything that says "click that stupid". I use an MS sidewinder FFB. In general it works well but when it comes down to very fine control for instance in AAR situations it seems useless. Now this could just be me but watching the position of the dot in the Axis Properties box in the control settings would indicate I'm not exactly being helped. In short any curve or dead zone I set for the A10C seems to be rendered ineffective when correct pitch trim is employed because the FFB on the stick physically moves it fwd or aft. This results in the dot moving from its central position out to the side and away from the shallower portion of a cure or dead zone. The same effect is seen in the in game red axis position window. Am I missing or misinterpreting something or is that just the way it is in DCS? Dugong
You are correct in that you can't really use curves or deadzones, because once you've trimmed outside of the deadzone, the deadzone effectively no longer exists. ED really need to implement deadzones/curves that always reference/scale with the PHYSICAL center of a FFB stick as the center of the curve/deadzone, but i doubt that will happen. Options for stick damping and friction would be nice as well. You can use simFFB on some aircraft, but it completely overrides any FFB effects sent from DCS. Boosterdog
Thanks for the quick reply Dugong! Looks like the Mongoose T50 I ordered is going to be even more valuable for DCS than I first thought. In the meantime at least I have something to blame for my shocking flying. Thanks again! Dugong
Also use a MSFFB2 here, you may want to try reducing Y-saturation. It's doesn't conflict as badly as curves do with FFB. Also consider that AAR is just really difficult! You might not be any better with a different stick, i'm not.
