Help: server disconnects when firing a weapon...

Hi All,

 

Don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but recently I've been getting "random" server disconnects when firing a weapon. Not always but...quite often, say 1 in 3 flights, when I go to fire my FIRST weapon (or cannon for the first time) I get disconnected from the game server and dumped to debrief.

 

Anyone else experienced this? Got any thoughts as to the cause? Or is the solution only to reinstall LO? I can't think of anything that's changed re: config or equipment, the only new s/ware is Supreme Commander.

 

Thanks in advance for any advice, hints, tips etc.

Is it possible that your controllers are sending some sort of key/command combination, that is causing it to exit? Although I would expect you to have the same problem in single player. Do you have different joystick mappings for multiplayer and singleplayer?

Not that I'm aware of, gotta say, I am super confused by this one mainly because its not a consistent behavioural problem.

 

I guess the only thing I can think of is a pedal 'map' conflicting with the JS...thanks for the thought though, gives me something to look into ;) All help appreciated!

This post is going to really piss you off because I had exactly the same problem, but...

 

...I don't recall how I solved it!

 

I do know that several people offered changes to the client settings on one of the lockon config files and I adopted some of those changes (after a clean reinstall). Whatever the solution, it was in my case within Lockon and not Windows IP or Router settings. Sorry I'm not more help, but at least this might help narrow your search for a solution.

LOL @ Eric, I know the feeling, thanks for the thought though ;)

 

Rugg - thanks for the heads up, I have a feeling its related to the Saitek pedals and having W mapped to toe brake but...bloody frustrating as you can imagine...40mins to target and POOF! debrief screen <sigh>

 

Guess I'll have to spend some time (that I really don't have atm) to look in to it...the only other thing I can think of is that I recently had a prob where the TIR wouldn't install correctly (known issue, reg hack required to fix) and I wonder if IT is somehow involved. I dunno, life's too short atm so what little play time I have might be spent doing other things.
