cmorris975 Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 Hi there, I'm new to the F-5E and trying to set up my controls. I am using a x52 yoke + Logitech Wingman for the stick. I want to get away from using keyboard commands for basic and often used things, so I assigned my view hat on the Logitech stick to control elevator trim but it does nothing in flight. Thanks for any ideas! Chris
Yurgon Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 [...] so I assigned my view hat on the Logitech stick to control elevator trim but it does nothing in flight. I don't have the F-5E, but a common problem with trim is when "Force Feedback" is checked in options when the stick attached to the PC doesn't have Force Feedback capability. If that doesn't solve it, I'd double check the assignment: Go to your control options, hit the trim hat up or down and confirm that DCS jumps to, and highlights, the assigned functions. Also, trim might be fairly sensitive. Does it do noting if you keep the hat pressed up or down for several seconds at a time? If the hat on the stick is not an axis (it probably isn't), make sure that trim is assigned as a key-press, not as an axis. Finally, you should probably check that no joystick specific software is interrupting things, like turning continuous key-presses into very quick single key-presses.
cmorris975 Posted March 26, 2018 Author Posted March 26, 2018 Turing off FFB did the trick. Thanks Yurgon!
